Eastbourne Aquathlon

The Eastbourne Aquathlon will consist of a sea swim followed by a run along Eastbourne’s historic promenade. There will be various distances for both adults and children. The day will start with a 100m swim and 600m run for 8-year olds, followed by a series of races over increasing distances for older children. Following the children’s races, it will be the turn of the adults with two distances to choose from; a sprint distance (750m swim and 5km run) and a standard distance (1,500m swim and 10km run).

The sprint distance aquathlon is an ideal introduction to multisport racing for novices, especially those considering taking part in next year’s Eastbourne Triathlon. For those racing at Eastbourne next year, including the GB Age-Group Team Qualifier, this is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the swim and run routes in race conditions, both of which will be similar to the routes used for the triathlon.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, places will be limited, and entries will be taken in advance only.

FAQs

Q: Will wetsuits be allowed/required?
A: This event will be run under BTF rules. Wetsuits are compulsory at water temperatures below 14°C, optional between 14°C - 22°C, and banned above 22°C. The current water temperature is around 18°C and is not expected to change significantly over the next few weeks so wetsuits will almost certainly be optional.
